The shifter hole in the tunnel is spot on perfect! Many cars had them 'enlarged' for different shifters. The holes were originally torched, then the factory snipped 2 sides of the opening to make them a tad larger (I'm not telling which of the 2 sides!)- this car's was factory original....

I spent alot of time (and beer)on this car and never made it to the mcacn show that year. I never got to appreciate the best of show GM with Sam and my dad. My daughter, who was born that week needs a ride in that car. Sam send it up to Iowa! She is 3, and probably could drive it.

Yes it was. Like Marlin said, while it looked rough in the picture, it cleaned up nice. And with only minor work, started right up after all those years. I remember Steve Sandlin swearing us to secrecy about bringing it to the reunion, but I think he told half the people there that we were on the way with it. I miss that guy. Anyway, there could have been no better care taker for that car than Sam. I/we are very proud to have been part of the history of the car. From the Roofs to Sam, it couldn't have had a better chain of owners. Sam, please screen the prospective buyers well. She needs the best of homes.

Hay Sammy, the speed was 25 MPH I was Jeff's driver on one of those car shoots and got bitched at for going to fast on the first pass, like 27 MPH
I have offered my services to exercise the Deuce and the orange Yenko while here in AZ, but so far no luck, can't wait to get my black beauty out and blow out the gunk..
