Congrats. FYI The inspection sticker goes on top of the city where it’s registered in. Looks as though your due your next TÜV at the end of the year?

Thanks, guys! And thanks Parkbrau for the correction. I’ll get on it! They’re vanity, and I can’t use them here in the US
It was fun writing it. Hopefully the BMW group funds my humor acceptable. Episode Two soon! Cheers Dave |

Been completing the wiring the last couple weeks and slow going since I wanted to do a few detail things that required some brainstorming. I could only muster up showers, but then the cold front came through and the storms formed!
I added the front jack mount and steering damper bracket to the front lower part of the frame. A small detail nobody cares about, but I do! I then decided on a push button ignition like the original had located on the colum under the dash. I built a small pod for the ignition switch and starter button and tacked it to the column. Once everything is done it'll be painted to match the dash. I'm searching to see if the colum was black or body color. I think it was body color originally. Engine detailing! I ran the spark plug wires through the conduit tubing and snaked them back to the distributor under the generator. That's a Powermaster alternator I mounted in the 12 O'clock position like the factory did. I fabricated the brackets and idler/tension pulley as well for adjustment. It lines up well and more importantly, clears the hood! The 2x2 intake is still being assembled with the EFI system, so I'm going with the single 4bbl right now. To look more "correct", I have an air cleaner from an E10 coming which I'll modify and install. It'll give a more factory look. Notice the distributor wires running to one side and the correct Bosch cap cover as well! Very happy with the overall look on how this came out. It'll look perfect once that intake set up is installed. I should be testing the lights Friday! Cheers Dave Last edited by A12pilot; 07-26-2023 at 06:09 PM. |
