“I'd like to dedicate this 1980's coin-operated children's ride in memory of the great Toby Keith. He was an American country music singer, songwriter, record producer, actor and businessman. He passed on February 5th, 2024 but his legacy will always live on. The sound box in this ride plays a Toby Keith song that was taken from a Ford TV commercial. How cool is this!” – Marc Schiliro

This impressive 1980 Kiddie Amusement Ford F-100 Step Side Pickup Coin Operated Children's Ride is super cool piece of memorabilia from the 1980's. From the information gathered it was produced in the early 1980's by Kiddie Amusement Inc. located in Florence, MS. It was discovered as an original ride and recently restored by expert Jeff Russell of Big Boy Toys located in Oklahoma. The restoration was completed and immediately purchased by MS CLASSIC CARS in September of 2024. October of 2024 is the first time it's ever been listed for sale.

This 44-year old coin-operated children's ride is the ultimate collector's piece of memorabilia from the 1980's. A time when rock and roll band members had crazy long hair and the front of pickup trucks were square. The original fiberglass F-100 Step Side Pickup body was stripped and prepped to be straighter then the original factory model was. The body incorporates a hood scoop, front and rear bumpers. The original coin-box unit was removed and a chrome coin mechanism was discretely fitted into the body. This custom feature allows the ride to be more realistic appearing. It was painted with automotive grade-paint in the beautiful colors of blue and white with silver trim. A custom made front grill with headlights graphic was applied to the front and a custom made Ford graphic was applied on the tailgate of which both were clear-coated over. The windows, white body-side stripe pin striping and bumpers were painted in silver to for a realistic appearance. The paint work is high show quality throughout and was recently detailed to a brilliant shine. The rubber fender trim and operational rear taillights were also added for a realistic appearance. The pickup was outfitted with custom black wheels that are wrapped with Power Wheels Ultimate Terrain Traction tires. The interior is also made of fiberglass which was stripped and prepped to be straight. The cabin was finished in a durable black paint. The front seat was painted blue with white stripes to match the exterior. The steering wheel was painted silver and is next to the operational red horn button.

The base was also stripped, prepped and painted black. The base supports the ride mechanism, 1/3 motor, new sound box and new 110-volt power cord. The sound box plays a Toby Keith song that was taken from a Ford TV commercial. The coin mechanism is activated by pressing the coin return knob. Everything is in excellent working order as demonstrated in video provided.

To be clear, this example was restored to considerably higher standards with more features then it was when it was new in the early 1980's. Countless hours were invested in this awesome ride. Vintage coin-operated children's rides are becoming highly collectable. They make great display pieces in homes, garages and businesses. This is a great opportunity!
