'68 Nova L78 on Ebay
This car popped up on Ebay after a no sale bid of 45k at Mecum Indy Fall Special 2024 but sold as a "bid goes on" sale of 68.2k.
Looks clean and real numbers matching '68 L78 Novas don't come up often (read: next to never) although I'm more than certain some of them still exist. What do people think? https://www.ebay.com/itm/27672425300...3Avlp_homepage |

Nice car. I am not a Nova expert although I've had a few big block Camaros and Impalas. Other than the usual factory big block identifiers like correct radiators, rear ends (12 bolts ) block, heads, manifolds, carb etc. , I imagine documentation is required, especially the build sheet and warranty book. There are just so many phony cars out there these days it's getting tough to tell.

First off, what a beautiful car…..and definitely rare assuming it’s real.
Just a quick glance, I notice it doesn’t have the “Nova” emblem on the rear quarter panel….exclusive to the 1968 Nova as the 1969 on up emblem is located on the front fender. I purchased a ‘68 Nova back in 1999. When it arrived at the house that was one of the first things I noticed……thinking to myself, who the hell drills holes in the rear quarter for emblems….? Not knowing that that’s correct from the factory…..lol Also, this site says it sold for $62,000 with a date of October 5th, 2024…..not sure if that’s correct or not…..? Kurt |

Mecum site itself doesnt state L34 or L78 - it just leaves it at 396 for all of us to infer - but car is presented the same as it is today as far as I can tell. And yes it sold there in the "bid goes on" at 68,200 as actual bidding on the block stalled at 45k.
