Default New Tow Truck 2024 Silverado 1500 High Country

A month or so I upgraded my tow truck. I traded the black 2024 2SS Camaro I had in for a 2024 Silverado High Country with the 6.2 420 hp engine. I haven't had a chance to tow anything with it yet but I really like this truck.

My dad pulled his enclosed trailer and 57 ford retractable to Florida with his 3.0 duramax. They said it worked a lot better than the 5.3 in his old truck. I dont remember his mileage but it was better also. Wasnt screaming up mountains. I got a Tahoe with the diesel and can get 33 mpg on the highway and mid 20s local. The 5.3 in the last one would get 18 and that was about it.

I have the 2021 Suburban High Country. It pulls my 30 ft Airstream up mountain grades effortlessly.

Nice red Silverado!! Ive had a couple 6.2 GM 1500s and power is not an issue. This time I upped the towing game last time with a 23 NHT Sierra. I might be an outlier but I miss the 8 speed as it would hold gears longer and make that 6.2 growl a bit maintaining speed over small hills and whatnot. That always made me smile. I also thought it was quicker than this '23 because when i would pass a semi on two lane it had a tendency to shut off before I completed the pass, well I found they upped the shutoff from 96mph to 105ish now. Ill keep buying 6.2s until they quit making them, then Ill just hold on to the last one I get
