Grandfather's 68 SS Camaro.
This seems like a good place to introduce myself. I'm Joe. I'm 15 and have grown up a total gearhead. I'm completely in love with Day 2 cars and 70's Street Machines/Street Freaks.
Here's my grandfather's 1968 Camaro SS396 ( I believe it's genuine, but we don't have the protect-o-plate.) [img]https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pic...777151300_22336 396. TH400 (Still has clutch pedal in it) Edelbrock C427X (Best way to get the gunk off?) topped by a Holley 750 Vacuum secondary. MSD HEI ignition. Headers and Flowmasters. Chevy Power Valve covers (how rare are these? Google'd them but can't find any info on them, never seen another pair) Sun Super Tach and Oil PSI gauge (If you have a blue line water temp gauge (mechanical ONLY, this car overheats, need the accuracy,) let me know) Slapper bars and Airshocks. Electric fans. Clearly, It's pretty Day 2 apart from the MSD ignition and Flowmasters (and the radial tires).

Re: Grandfather's 68 SS Camaro.
Very pretty car, nice stance and it has CRAGARS !
For a more accurate Day 2 configuration loose the electric fans, HEI and add M/T finned valve covers. Right now its more like a Day 3 car from the 80's ..... at 15 , will Pap allow you to tool it around the neighborhood ?

A GREAT BIG Welcome Joe!!! Super to see a youngin' taking interest in this awesome era of muscle cars. Your Gpa's car looks great. I can see how it inspired you. Looks like you have a Chevelle lurking in the background too. Glad to have you around. There's lots to see and learn from around here. Don't hesitate to ask questions. Have FUN!!!! As for the valve covers, I think I'll go with a pair of Morosos. THey were around back then, and are half as much as MTs. The Chevelle is also my grandfather's It's a 396/325 car that was originally Granada Gold with a gold interior. It has L78 heads on it, a nice cam (unsure of the kind), An Edelbrock Performer, wth a Holley 750. It also has a 4.56 gear and an 1800 stall converter. When my grandfather bought it, it had a Marlboro man mural on the trunk. It'd been sitting under his carport for 7 years with a bad starter, until I finally convinced him to get it running, only to find out all 4 tires were dryrotted. So it has no carb on it (Camaro needed a new one), needs fuel lines, and 4 new tires. All 3 will come this year. And no, not allowed to drive them.
