When Ford introduced the new 1968 GT500 KR they also added a new color which replaced this one: Competition Yellow

Sorry to hijack the post. but what designates (Is included in) a KR (King of the Road) Shelby? I see some with Dual Quads and some with a single Quad. Is it like a Super Cobra Jet or Drag Pack package with external engine oil coolers, and a 3:91 or 4:30 gear? Just trying to get educated about my Mustangs and all now that I have had my Coyote 5.0 / 10 Speed 2019 California Special for 4 years. It's a Neat Car and it fits through a Car Wash, not like all the Z06's I've had.

The 1967 GT500 used the Ford Police Interceptor 428 but with dual quads.

All other Shelby's have a single quad no matter SB or BB.

The 1968 GT500 KR was a mid year addition. It used the brand new Cobra Jet 428 with Ram Air. The 68 GT500 still used the 428 PI engine only with a single quad

The 65, 66 and 67 GT350s used the HiPO 289 engine with modifications which added 35 HP.

The 1968 GT350 used the Ford 302 with the addition of an aluminum intake and was rated at 250 HP.

The 1969/1970 GT350s used the 351 rated at 290HP.

The Drag Pack (introduced for the 1969 model year) used the Super Cobra Jet engine - still rated at 335 HP but had stronger internals. Included was the oil cooler. You could only get it by ordering either the 3.91 or 4.30 rear. Was available in the Mercury Cyclone, Mustang and Torino along with the Shelby.
