1967 RS/SS 350 Convertible
Looks like a project car with nice options and color. Red, ragtop, 4spd, console, gauges. The interior has been changed to deluxe.

After studying this for some time, I can't determine if it is, actually, an L48 car. The pic of the black stamp is interesting in that it does NOT include the entire application code, only the M, which can be either an L30 or L48. There is so much paint on the pad that I'm not qualified to determine broach marks.
This statement in the description, also raises a red flag. "Being curios I pulled heads and sure enough it had the original GM pistons and never rebuilt factory bore as well made sure it was a small journal motor." Everything I've ever read about the introduction of the 350 engine is the block and cranks were now large journal main bearing with the 327 following soon after to be uniform. Maybe he measured the rod journals ? I can't see the firewall well enough to determine if there is a speedo cable entering under the column. Left fender doesn't seem to have the 350 emblem. I didn't enlarge it and there does appear to be rust above the flags, possibly from the missing 350 emblem holes. The right fender has '68 emblems, possibly complete fender with the marker hole filled in. Trim tag...by the body schedule code, this car was built 4 days after mine. Interestingly, the first 2 digits of the body number are missing ? Is this a known anomaly of LOS stampings, or a deliberate omission to hide the cars true identity ? I couldn't find any record of the vin in the ad either, which could possibly narrow the car down to known SS cars... far too many questions to know for certain this is an actual L48 vehicle for me. Anyone interested in the vehicle, please do your own homework, your mileage may vary with better knowledge and experience.

Both sides of the top of the cowl appear to be caved in a bit, inboard of the fender mounts. And a huge stack of shims under the fender mounts. Front end crash somewhere in its past?

Last six of Engine stamping appears to be 144625 but 7L transposed L7. 124677L144625 ~ Pete .

I saw that too, but it's much easier to see after you flipped it. I felt I had already picked it apart enough and left some for others...
I did not notice the shims Jeff mentioned, but it goes along with the '68 right fender. It would be interesting to see the underside, transmission and speedo cable entry into the cab. It does have a 12 bolt and round radius rod, which the L30 4P cars got, as well as the L48 4P. My 2M 4P car has the brackets, but no indication of a rod installed, which CRG says was common with the PG.
