Is "stance" important?

Here is my 55 chevy barn find stance...its probably going to have this stance for some time...bought this car a few months ago for my son, he wants to make it into a kind of Two Lane Blacktop style hot rod...55 210 2 door posts are kinda hard to find, so when this showed up on Craigslist I had to buy it.
