Default '69 AMX, 390/4-sp, Charitable Donation??

So this car was a recent charity donation...can you imagine working in a place where you're lucky to see a late-model Infiniti, and this car rolls in? Unreal.

An 8% buyer's fee on an Ebay auction? That alone would stop me from bidding (and did).

Two rules:

Never buy a car with Cooper Cobras and never pay a "buyer's fee" on an Ebay auction.

I missed the fee disclosure- that is nuts.

If it was a car I really wanted, that would not deter me for even a second. Actually, maybe 10 seconds it would take to figure my final cost when bidding. I would just lower my bid accordingly. What difference does it make if I pay $25k for the car WITH the surcharge or pay $25k for the car without? My wallet isn't affected.

I just bought some things on the Gov. Surplus site. Some of the schools or municipalities have a surcharge built in; some don't. This one did, but I adjusted my bid accordingly and still won. It is only a factor if you don't read the fine print.

Looks like a nice clean car that may have been re-sprayed with lacquer at some point in its life. For me, I would have to at least re-do the trunk lid stripes as they didn’t stretch the vinyl to keep the space consistent between them. Also, I believe this would not have been a Go Pac car without power brakes and possibly electric wipers (been so long I can’t remember if that was part of the package). Trunk lid looks original. Some paint imperfections that would force me to do an in-person look especially lower rear quarters. No PS which wouldn’t be hard to source. Nice car overall and a bonus if it’s all solid and the 390 is still in it.

I agree, just think it’s silly to introduce an unconventional fee structure in an eBay auction where 99% of bidders will ignore the note. I think it casts an unfriendly shadow over the auction and could lead to a soured sale if the winning bidder overlooked it.

Agree with you. it is silly. I just don't bid without reading everything.

I read the whole thing and there are sooo many of the sellers rules and requirements, that I wouldn't bid on it if I WAS seriously interested. The 3 DAYS to remove is totally unreasonable and who knows what they would still require if "arrangements" were made in advance. The daily storage fee seems to be non-negotiable, even with arrangements to pick up after more than 3 days.

You may be right Mitch. I did NOT read all the fine points on this one as I am not interested in this car.

Passed on a much nicer AMX right here one town over for way less money last year, so I am certainly not in the market for one out of state.

Is it still available?

If it's much nicer and way less money I'll buy it.
