Default Willow Green '66 327/4-sp Malibu

Neat factory 4-speed '2L' car with a hotter L79 tuned 327. Amazing how much even a SB Malibu is going for these days - bidding is already over $40k with the reserve not met.

I’ve watched this one sell in the past. Been watching it currently. This “Looks” to be a well done car. Obviously not original drivetrain but it doesn’t matter. WG is an awesome color. Bonuses everywhere with this one. Black V top. Buckets. 4 speed. and very clean throughout. Do not be surprised to see this car get bid to $53K

It’s a car that Chevrolet should have built. They did in ‘65,7,8 but somehow ‘66 got skipped!

It didn’t get skipped. It was a business n marketing decision.

66 was the debut of the Big Block 396/325hp as the base engine in their Chevelle SS. They couldn’t very well promote this new SS 396 and yet have a MALIBU with a small block 327 and 350hp. They left that to their Nova and Chevy II.

Once the hype of the 66 SS was over and the 67 model year began., it seemed OK to have both. A 67 Chevelle SS with a base engine 396/325hp and it’s younger sister 67 Malibu with 327/350hp

But. Indeed…. This car should have been built and here it is…. KINDA

I guess the “bidder” didn’t want to hit his RESERVE

Obviously it’s $50,000 so why would a bidder hold out for $400

Seller bidding on his own auction. Using a couple of friends that are told not to meet the reserve.
