Just learned from another forum HERE that Bob Wingate passed away earlier this month.

----Sad to hear. Classic Motors (the Buxbaum reference) did a lot of business with Bob. Many, many Corvettes made their way east due to the connection. Bob was also huge back in the day in 55-6-7 Chevies of all types. Before Classic I worked at a restoration shop on Cape Cod and the owner brought several tri-5's back east. I had a beautiful 57 4-door, powerpack, powerglide, factory AC, evening orchid-white top Chevy from Bob that I drove every day for a whole summer before selling it to a friend who still has it today.

Sad to hear. I can remember seeng his name in his ads often back in the '70's in Cars & Parts magazine and thinking "Man, this guy has got all the cool stuff!"

Purchased one of his cars in the late 70's back in the day when Tri-Five clubs & events were bountiful. Sorry to hear the news.
