Default GM Overseas Distribution Center Info

I just got the NCRS info back on a 1969 Camaro and it said the car was sold new out of GM Overseas Distribution Center. I know history on the car from 1976 to present day and I know it has its original California plates. They start with a Y. You can see the plates in pictures from late 70’s. I can’t imagine the car getting sold overseas and coming back that soon. Was it possibly bought by a member of the armed forces and then shipped to a certain dealer where the original owner would have picked it up?
Any info would be great! Thank you!

I remember a few times the buyers would show up wearing their military uniforms looking for their car they ordered i would have to take them to the storage lot with the keys and show them the car they ordered. Still remember how thrilled they were.

Longshot but may be worth checking in w/ Frank and the boys @ GM Canada Vintage Services as depending on where soldiers were overseas, especially if a British Commonwealth Country, there’s a small chance paperwork was streamed through GM Canada to save taxes etc.

Member Ralph Spears sent me a picture of this paper work! It does say what dealer it went too. Would love to find out if there was a way to figure out where this 69 went after GMODC
