Default 1969 L78 Turbo 400 Idle Solenoid

Did all 1969 L78 Camaros come with an idle kick solenoid?

Default Idle Solenoid TH400/L78...

Pretty sure all the Nova L78's had that feature...would have to assume it was consistent across Chevelle and Camaro applications as well. Rare part and hard to find since most of them were discarded early on.

Somewhere I have some photos of these...pretty sure early 70 model year had it too? I know the early 70 cars had a different kick down switch at the carb.

The 69 High Horse BB automatics had these.

Not all of them had it.

The 3/69 PHR L89 [L507834] test car did not; vintage photos of ZL-1 #2 show the same.

Seems to be a later production feature.

Interesting Benny’s is a first week of May 69 car. The car I have is a second week of February. Anyone else with an earlier production car let me know!

I checked out this article and the L89 Camaro in it does not have the solenoid on it. I’m not sure what the date is on this one but here’s some pictures!
