Default Header Coatings?

I have a set of old school headers on my '68 Camaro that are pretty well surface rusty, and I was thinking of getting them either coated with an aluminized coating or painting them myself. Does anyone have any experience here with painting them with something that has worked very well? Or should I just buy new ones?

I've painting the headers on my Chevelle every year for about 40 years.

Finally got tired of it and had them ceramic coated this winter. It was about $260.

My motor is not done, so I haven't run them yet - but - I suspect when this is over with I'm going to wish I had done this years ago.
