Special high performance power steering 3 groove deep groove cast crank pulley used on 1965-1968 396 L78 and 427 L72 Corvettes, Camaros, Chevelles and full size passenger cars when the special high performance option was ordered in conjunction with the power steering option. Debuting in 1965 it was quickly realized that the then new 425hp 396 engines were revving to fast and throwing off the belts. GM went back to the drawing board and the solution was the deep groove pulley sets with deep groove crank, alternator, power steering and water pump pulleys. Very few of these cars were ordered with power steering as they only had one true purpose got from 0 to 1320 feet in a straight line as fast as possible. If you do own one of these great cars and you need an original correct crank pulley for your Concourse restoration, adding power steering or if you are building a tribute car with power steering then this is the piece for you. This is a true period cast GM 3869978BO pulley complete with all correct casting marks that were used back in the day, not a reproduction pulley or a later over the counter NOS pulley that has only the part number cast into it. The face picture makes the pulley look like the bolt holes are oval, this is not the case, they are still round with no signs of wear. There is a reserve and it is $400.00 so no need to guess, that is what we have in this one and what we would like to get back out.

Mike, Corvettes used the #108 cast iron pulley, never a 3 groove regardless if car was equipped with PS.
