The face of the block is usually uneven but core shift is another really big reason to have the block milled. They want to machine the deck height so they are of equal distance from the center of the crank.
Lately, I’ve been seeing machine shops stop the resurfacing process before the stamp to preserve it. I like that idea. Kurt |
