Default GTO Gurus

Can someone tell me under what scenario would you see the Hurst equipped badge on the decklid of a '67 GTO? Was it badged as such under a certain option config?

Thanks.

You could ctually buy that badge from speed shops that handled Hurst products in that era. I sold a pair on ebay that I bought from a speed shop in 69 or 70. I had never taken them out of the package.
That's not to say that that GTO wasn't sold with that badge. If it was factory equipped with the Dual Gate shifter, that may have been added at the dealer level.

Dick,,,No Pontiac of any description ever was delivered to a dealer with that Hurst emblem. As cool as they were, these emblems were aftermarket and may have come with some sort of over-the-counter Hurst product but were always available seperatly as well.......Bill S

Our '72 Lemans Sport has its original factory installed Hurst shifter. Still works fine. I might buy one of these emblems just for nostalgia sake.

They sell the Hurst emblem in some of the catalogs. My SJ Grand Prix had one added a couple years ago.
