Default Steering clearance issues 68 bbc camaro

I am posting this for a friend .... My buddy is building a 68 Camaro with a 502 dougs D302 headers and a flaming river rack and pinion set up with an automatic. He is running into all kinds of resistance with the rack steering lines in relation to the headers. Before he went on the war path and started cutting up 700 dollar headers I figured I would ask some of the smart guys here if they have run into this and if there were any solid suggestions (allow me to also say that both dougs and flaming river have provided little to no help) We are just looking for similar situations and possible answers such as other products that may help. Thank you in advance for any and all input.

Not done this but be sure you have the correct BB only frame stands. The left is about an inch higher than the right moving the front of the engine to the right.Jeff

Yeah thats already taken care of .. what is happening is where the lines go into the rack is dead in front of the driver side primary tube with no real direction for the line to go. What I am looking for is maybe a part number for a set of headers that wont have to be hacked up or some insight if anyone has run across this before.
