Default 1972 Vega Panel Express

Here are some pictures of my newest car.

Plans are to put the 427 out of my Nova in it. Just picked up the built TH350 and a 3000 stall for it yesterday. Motor mounts and headers are coming from the states. They should be here next week. The plan is to start the transplant in 2 week after I get back from this next shift of work. I have order a rectangle port tunnel ram, a pair of 600 holleys, and K&N stacks, the 10 1/2 tall ones. I have a dash cluster now from a donor car as well as other parts to complete most of the puzzle. Carpet has been order also.

I will post some pictures of how it was found shortly.

Hope this car fits into this day 2 stuff, as I'm sure it does.

Enjoy!!

I was able to get a grill off of Ebay, it's in amazing shape. Sure smartened up the front of the car.

The paint is a little rough in a few place's, but I know a body guy that can just touch it up as need be. I have no plans on painting the car. It will remain as you see it. This is how the car ran around Red Deer, Alberta about 30 years ago. I remember seeing this thing running around and looking at it at a car show thinking how cool it was. Nothings changed, it still pretty frickin cool!!!

Not the most modern build, or cleanest build compared to few cars in this day 2 forum, never the less, a blast from the past when its completed.

Enjoy!!

Due to the mice thinking they could move in while the car sat in the Quonset for a few years, it was a little bit smelly!! So I rented a rug doctor last night and shampooed the interior a couple times. I will let it air out for a bit now. I think this should take care of the smell.

The car came with no dash cluster. So I bought a parts car and took what I needed. I took the cluster apart and cleaned it the best I could. My daughter (14) took a silver highlight marker and highlighted the edging as it once was. It turned out pretty good. Now it just needs some mothers.

A couple pictures of the inside of the panel. Take notice of the mirror's. lol. Also if you look close enough, you can see the blue sex lights!!!

She's a retro mobile, that's for sure.

I will post up some more picture's as I progress.

Enjoy.

Sweet! Nice find. A big block should be a bit tough to control in that baby!

I built one of those V-8 Vegas with a Don Hardy kit -- best thing to do was stab it and aim it!! Could be a handfull especially when shifting into 2nd gear at WOT ...
