Also dropped off all the door and seat plastics today. The plastics and the headrests will now be dyed to match the new yellow vinyl and should be ready early next week. Seats should also be wrapped up by early next week. Here are some shots of the frames being built up with new materials and the piping being made for the new patterns.

Yup. It went from North Dakota to Texas, then it landed in St Paul before going up to Brainerd for 10 years, then onto PA for some long term storage before being sold to me and arriving in western Canada.

I am new to this site but have been lurking in the background for quite some time. I have been a long time member of camaros.net and also recently joined CRG.
I just had to come on this thread for the first time to acknowledge what an awesome job Graeme is doing on this 69Z. ![]() Cheers, Joe |

Was out to visit with Mike @ Crown Automotive Interiors earlier today and see how the seats are taking shape. He was in the midst of building sections for the bucket seat patterns while I was there and shared a lot of info with me. I left there at about 2:30 and three hours later I was rolling into my driveway as he was texting me some images of the lower seat covers. They are bright...but it's going to look really good when it's all done.

Fast work! Is that the original vinyl material in the background of your last image?

Yes. The old covers can be seen on the side of the table in a few of the shots above, as well as on the second pair of buckets that are sitting down on the floor beside the table. They are old dirty and faded covers, but when you unfold the back seams to a piece that has not seen the light of day, the color is very close to the new vinyl. It also looks brighter under this T5 lighting than it does under natural light so the inside shots might be a bit skewed.

Slowly but surely Ron's been nibbling away at it. He went to sand the top of the trunk lid yesterday and found something odd. Insidious "creeping rust" which is like little hidden channels of rust that spread under the primer and branch out like a network of little veins. In this case, it was all hidden under the original factory primer. Like cancer in waiting. Anyways, stripped down to the bare metal, chemically treated, and now dressed in primer.

Seats are continuing along and are on pace to be ready next week. Mike has just finished the seatbacks for the buckets and the patterns are nearly ready to go onto the frames. Just the buttons need to be finished up and he can wrap them up.
