Default Yenko-Douglas 1:18 Model

From Hemmings eWeekly:

Yenko-Douglas connection brought to light in 1:18 scale

No white ’69 Yenkos? This scale model begs to differ...
COPO purists may see this photo and look askance. Look, it's white! There were no white ’69 Yenkos. And certainly none had the body-color endura front bumper! Well ... it's sort of a Yenko. The tale we were told provides an interesting look into the way things were done way back when.

As it was explained to us: “Don Yenko sold semi-loads of Yenkos to other dealers. Douglas Chevrolet was one of those, and at one point arranged so they could just buy the stripes, lettering, badges, etc, to install on COPO cars they ordered themselves to save shipping money (instead of cars being sent to Yenko and then sent to Douglas). On the Douglas-made Yenkos, the ‘bowties’ were left on the car and the familiar 427 on the rear panel was not installed. However, a ‘Jack Douglas’ decal was placed on the rear panel instead. These were not very well known until a few years ago, and some will still debate them.”

And now this very rare piece of COPO and Yenko history has been replicated in 1:18 scale, using photos of a genuine, documented ’69 Douglas Yenko Camaro. Just a handful of Douglas Yenkos were built, and in keeping with that car’s limited status, just 750 replicas will be made. The engine is wired and plumbed, and the model features all of the correct cables, hoses, carpeting, sliding seats, and even metal e-brake cables. They’re in stock and ready to ship; contact www.supercar1.com, for more information.

John P. helped design that car. My favorite Yenko, can't wait to get mine.
