85 GMC A/C Compressor...and??
Looks like I have an oil leak from the A/C compressor in the 85 GMC Sierra. Last couple of years I have been adding refrigerant and it usually lasts for awhile. This year it took about 4 cans...and it appears it has all leaked out.
The paint is peeling off the brackets below the compressor from the leaking oil. Interested in suggestions to repair this situation...do I need all new parts?? Just the compressor and drier?? Thanks for any help. -wilma

I would replace the compressor accumulator and the fixed orifice tube. That tube is about 10 bucks. Has a very fine screen, so if there are even small particles, it becomes an issue.
Good luck.

As long as the compressor has worked good, it only needs a new shaft seal at the front, if you can find someone who works on them.
