Default Re: L-78 Intake Manifold

Casting #3963569..low profile aluminum intake used on all L78 and LS-6 engines in 1970. Winters foundary snowflake on manifold. Basically a one year item, except for a few Vettes and Chevelles in 71. Fairly easy to come by at swap meets and on the "net".

Regarding the above 3963569 Intake.......Was there a different version after 1970....I've heard of a style with the Cyl # cast onto each port runner (1,3,5,7 etc)

Any other points, issues to inspect for

Vapor blasting is the best aluminum cleaning I’ve seen. Steel shot would work the surface way too much IMO

I ve read about the MIRACLE of Vapor Blasting but havent experienced it myself.....

I'm "thinking" that sand cast parts were run thru shot blasters (Wheel-A-Brator) when they were 1st mfg.........and I believe that short (under 5 minutes) periods in a shot blaster would make a sand cast manifold look like NEW again.........We shall see !!!!!!
