Probably the most not-used mode on the internal performance pages on the center dash monitor: ECO MODE. (Versus the TRACK, SPORT, AUTO, and CUSTOM modes.)

I am trying to put some miles on the car to get to the 500 mile mark to unlock all the restricted function(s) that may or may not be available on the Redeye til you hit that mileage mark. The line-lock is one that I can think of off the top of my head.

I had a 90 mile round trip to do today so I put the car in Sport mode on the way out and Eco mode on the return trip back.

Here's the incredible results:

SPORT MODE: 23.3 MPG

ECO MODE: 24.0 MPG

An absolutely amazing solution to the entire gas crisis we are undergoing at the moment.

Regardless of what mode it is in, your right foot is the biggest variable when it comes to fuel economy.

I realize we are almost 40 years apart in technology, but my 1983 BMW 745i (factory turbocharged gray market car) only gets 24 mpg. I probably have close to 500 lb. ft. of torque (been modified a little) but because I limit my boost to 10 psi (kept breaking driveline parts at 15 psi) I doubt I have even 380 hp at the flywheel. Impressive for a 1983 car; today... not so much.

I figure that the 24 MPG is still pretty good for the ambient viscosity of our New Jersey air.

Beautiful car. How comfortable are the front seats?

They are nice. They seem to be the same seats as in our 2014 Charger - nice and wide for us "full figured" guys.

The hood stripes finally arrived yesterday. I took around 4 hours to get them exactly matched in terms of location. Lots of taping down and measuring with a yardstick and masking tape to get them in the exact same spot on the multi curved hood surface.

I like how it turned out. It accents the hood scoops very well and makes them pop up from the surface now.

My wife actually said this is the coolest car we have ever had! (and she drove a Viper before we got married!)

My son really likes it too, though he is bummed he can't drive it. I made a wager with him that if he got straight A's this semester at college, he could drive it. (He's in his junior year as a math major, chemistry minor). The grades just posted. Soooo close: four A's and one B.

As a consolation prize we drove it to the gym this afternoon and did a Crossfit WOD together. Hey, the kids got abs, what does he need a cooler car for anyway? (he drives a Camaro)

The stripes do look great.
As for the son not getting to drive it...with the course load he must have for those 2 you listed, I think he deserves a short drive for that monumental effort. I couldn't accomplish that in 30 years...

Yeah you’re right. I already warned him about the horrible Pirellis on the car. We might have to get a set of Michelins Pilot Sport 4S’s or even the Nitto race tires. It’s dangerously tractionless without them.

So close! Was the B in a math or chemistry course, or an elective?

Cool stripes!
