I'm no Mopar expert, but I believe it also depends on the plant the car was built at. One of the plants didn't attach the tag to the fender until after the car was painted so the tag was mostly void of paint with two unpainted screws. I believe it was hung inside the car while going through the painting process so there would be some overspray on it. The other plant attached the tag with one screw before paint was applied. Typically the screw closest to the front of the car is painted unless it is a two tag car. With a two tag car typically the center screw holds down both tags and the screws on the ends are unpainted. Like mentioned above, I believe the tag or tags were bent up until the painting process was completed. Then they were screwed down with an unpainted screw.

Yes, St. Louis and Hamtramck had different methods, so E-bodies, B-bodies and A-bodies have odd things you will find that differ. And thank you for the awesome pics as usual mrays!

- Neither screw painted body color, both screws black
- Neither screw painted body color, both screws plated
- Both painted body color
- One painted body color and one black (and if so which side is painted and which is black)?
- One painted body color and one plated (and if so which side is painted and which is plated)?

I think there is at least one of every scenario in those pics!!

Thanks for asking that...I was thinking the same thing! And thanks to Des for his answer
