Default New Moroso Brute Strength Differential 4-series

I am selling a new Moroso Brute Strength Differential for a 4 series ring and pinion. I purchased it in the 70's for a project that never happened. It has been covered for years.

The price is $450 plus $25 shipping.

I'm surprised to see the Eaton number on it. All of the other Moroso units that I've seen had the number ground off. That's a good strong differential. Next best thing to the COPO unit.

It is the small hole GM carrier...it may just be a COPO carrier as they used the best GM had to offer. I have one in my 67. Very nice to have carrier around.

If I'm not wrong, the COPO had 16-10 gears and the Moroso had 17-10 gears, 17 teeth on the axle gears and 10 on the pinion gears. The standard Eaton Posi had 18-10 gears. The new Eaton Posi has 17-10 gears, but are not as strong as the old heavy duty gears. The Moroso unit was the Eaton heavy duty unit, but Moroso usually removed the numbers from the case. I've had a few of them apart and I'm pretty sure about the tooth count. Tom's Differentials has sold the 17-10 gears for years, but is currently out of stock. Anyway, that Moroso unit is a pretty stout piece. One of the guys who broke their Eaton at SCR this year could use that to beef up their rear end.

Well said Freddie! You would be hard pressed to break one of these carriers! I did not look for any numbers on my carrier.
