Default Bumper Guard ID?

I bought these bumper guards many years ago, and they were supposedly for the rear bumper on a 69 Chevelle. IIRC, at the time I tried fitting them up to the rear bumper on my Chevelle and I could not figure out any reasonable way for them to line up. Anyone have any idea what they might be for? They're really in pretty nice original condition. They are stamped 'R' and 'L' on the back side for right and left.

I'm 95% sure those are 70-72 Monte Carlo rears.

You are the MAN, Donny. I just found a picture on the web of a 70 Monte with rear bumper guards, and the ones I have look exactly like them. Thanks so much!

You would've thought that I would have helped with this since I have a Monte Carlo with those guards. Didn't dawn on me to look at mine. :-)
