Parts build dates versus car build date
Been keepin my eye out for some misc parts for my Nova. Build date for the car is Jan 28/69. I'm looking for a distributor (1111499) and a 4346 holley. What would be acceptable dates for both of these item to match the build date of the car?? A couple weeks before, a month. I know the engine and heads are very late Dec 68, and very early Jan 69. So should I be looking for some stuff that is dated close to that, or are these parts I'm looking for dated earlier or later then the block and heads. What are other L-78 Novas dated like?? Thanks as always for your input guys.

Re: Parts build dates versus car build date
Darcy, most of the common bolt on parts were produced in batches so there are common dates out there for most of these. Generally a 1-3 month window is acceptable for most items...you can check with other folks who may have a similar build date to yours and see what their dates are. Be careful when you buy some of these items as re-stamps are common, especially with the distributors.
