Default Buick 215 Engine builder recommendation?

Greetings Folks!

Getting closer to needing my Buick 215 built and was curious if anyone knows of anyone that knows anyone that knows a good engine shop that knows these engines for my build? I’d like to have the motor dyno’ed and broken in as well.

I know someone suggested D&D a while ago, but let’s just say I won’t use them. I need to contact some local shops here but figured I’d throw this out and see if “The Power of Yenko.Net” may have some insight.

Thanks men!

Cheers
Dave

Try contacting Kurt Urban at Scoggin-Dickey and see if you can talk him into it. I would trust him.

Thanks, Charley! If I mention your name, does that help or hurt the cause?

Cheers

D&D had a website iirc that had some real good information regarding the cam choices and valvetrain......regrind is probably in order. I gave a 215 Olds to my buddy, and he just used a local rebuilder do the machine work, nothing out of the ordinary there, just flat planes and round holes. Putting it together requires some wallet digging compared to a sbc. Cool little engines.

Post Buick 215 Engine...

I checked with my machine shop today...he has done a few and would be happy to help if it is not a 'rush job'.

Boyd's Motorworks in Gloversville, New York...Jack Boyd is a great guy and does amazing work...just ask Sully

He has done work for me for many years...has one of our engines in the shop now. First rate guy and excellent engine builder.

Can you post all the details and intricacies of the 215 build, a friend may want to install one in a hot rod and Knowledge is power. And power is power:-)

The aluminum 215 to me seems like a perfect engine for a small car/hot rod, but only if a 4 or 5 speed is involved!!!

Just got off the phone with Jack. What a great guy. I’m sending him the motor this week! Woohoo!

Thanks again, Tom.
