Did not know he passed and thanks for the spelling correction. The white 70 w30 made its way to Vancouver in the mid 70’s and was owned by a mechanic at Canadian Airlines. When I talked with him once he claimed it was a factory race car with a special engine. It had “D” heads from a 69 Hurst Olds. It was later when I made the connection with Holiday Chev Olds, I realized the claim to be a factory race car has some potential truth to it,as Olds Engineer Dale Smith made sure dealers who promoted Olds through racing got parts out the back door. If Dale found certain parts worked better than others, they were shipped to tracers as “salvage” to circumvent the orders from GM brass to stay out of racing.
The white W30 passed through several hands by the late 90’s and was destroyed in a barn fire in Yarrow ,BC.

Great info also sure sounds like Holiday was a dealer Olds would've been offering extra help to.
Is it known what year the '70 W30 was sold off as there's one listed in this 05/74 Holiday ad below?

The advertisement and photos brings back a lot of memories. I believe the cars at the drag strip was at Bison Dragways. That was a great drag strip!

Here's a shot of the Holiday Olds Winnipeg '70 W30 on the trailer that may as well land here w/ the others.
Again, Driver/Racer Sherrold Haddad also owned the Dealership, both he + car gone now as info above.

All great stories and photos!

Sure sounds like a lot of hot cars passed through there.

I just confirmed that I still have this emblem available.

Anyone interested in it as a toolbox or wall hanger or to put on their car that went through that dealer? Real or imagined.

Cheers all, very interesting place.
Anthony
