When the gas crisis hit hard in the mid seventies, many yards looked like used muscle car lots. Cars all over with For Sale signs in the windows. I used to buy 1st gen Camaros for under 1K that needed a tune up, brakes, etc. I would repair and clean them up and sell for mid teens. Now a complete rust bucket roller sells for that...
By the time I was 30 yrs old, I had owned over 100 cars, the vast majority being Camaro, Chevelle and Impalas. Many got repaired and driven for a while and others were just parts cars for the drivetrain, since the bodies were little more than rust dust at only 10 years old.
