Default 1965 442 Post Coupe - New Addition

I always wanted an early A body ('64 GTO post coupe) but this one ended up following me home. '65 442 post coupe. Provincial White with a red bucket seat interior. 87,000 miles. Column shift Jetaway automatic. 3.23 axle. Window sticker, Protect-O-Plate, dealer key chain and even the actual Hot Rod Magazine that the original owner looked at and saw the road test in the issue of the '65 442. It was then he decided a '65 442 was for him. Lightly optioned. One repaint many years ago. Original unmolested car. 3 owner, known history. Driven 7000 miles since 1993. Previous owner lived down the street from my wife's cousin. Looked at it 8 years ago. Wasn't the right time so I passed on it. 8 years later the gentleman still had it and offered it to me again but for less than before (it was a good deal then!) I had to have it.

Car came with a treasure trove of extras also. NOS Plugs, oil filters, manuals, repop battery and so much more. Even a roll of the correct vinyl material the original owner bought months later after he took delivery to recover the armrests that he knew were going to fail (they did.)

Plan is to have the Rochester 4GC rebuilt properly, tune it and just do some general cleaning, reinstall the washer lines and bottle and enjoy. Possibly add a limited slip (didn't order an Anti-Spin) and maybe a 2004r. I have a nice 2004r out of a low mileage 307 Delta that is perfect for it. The Jetaway 2 speed was rebuilt years ago and shifts just fine but that 1.76 first gear is not my cup of tea. Just thought I'd share with the group.

If you have the inclination contact Jasen Ramesy in Plymouth MI. He has restored 2 national winning 65 442s.

It's funny you mention that. I had my Nova at a car show in our neighborhood this summer and Jason was there with his car. We chatted for quite a while.

Very handsome car. Always liked that body style.
Will be a beast with the OD trans. I have a 4L60E in my 68 El Camino, and it was a massive improvement over the PG trans.
