Not to be dumb ( well about this I am ) what would a #3 car actually mean in terms of condition. Im learning so be nice to me..

[/ QUOTE ]

1=EXCELLENT: Restored to current maximum professional standards of quality in every area, or perfect original with components operating and appearing as new. a 95-plus point show car that is not driven.

2=FINE: Well-restored or a combination of superior restoration and excellent original. Also, an extremely well-maintained original showing very minimal wear.

3=VERY GOOD: Completely operable original or "older restoration" showing wear. Also, a good amateur restoration, all presentable and serviceable inside and out. Plus, combinations of well-done restoration and good operable components or a partially restored car with all parts necessary to complete and / or valuable NOS parts.

4=GOOD: A drivable vehicle needing no or only minor work to be functional. Also, a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. All components may need restoration to be "excellent," but the car is mostly useable "as is."

5=RESTORABLE: Needs complete restoration of body, chassis and interior. May or may not be running, but isn't weathered, wrecked or stripped to the point of being useful only for parts

6=PARTS CAR: May or may not be running, but is weathered, wrecked and or stripped to the point of being useful primarily for parts.

Also, I said it is a black bench car, which is a mistake. It is a black bucket car with column shift T-400. Sorry

What stopped you from going for Mark's Canadian documented L78 car...did you try for it and get out bid and/or is this more than you're looking to spend?.

Buckets with a/t on the column is quite unusual, sounds neat - especially being all black!

I have over 100 L78 Nova invoices, and have only found a few of them. Can anyone run a nationwide vin check? Here is one in Mass,I dont think its a real L78. Bob

Bob,

I'm not aware of a 'one-stop-shop' for vin searches, as each state sets their own rules for this process. It's an arduous task, which is why so few people pursue this avenue.

As for the car in your craigslist link, other than being a trainwreck of a resto I didn't see anything that instantly popped out as being a non-L78 car.
