Default 72 Duster New Project

Well, I've officially joined the A-Body gang. I've been a long time E-Body owner, some experience with B-bodies, but this is my first A body. I dragged this from its 37-year resting place a few weeks ago with my Dad and Uncle's help. Fortunately, it wasn't too hard to get out. Cut a few small trees and used my Uncle's 4 wheel drive diesel tractor to pull it out.

I haven't done much to it yet other than getting exterior and engine bay pressure washed. I'm trying to get the interior cleaned out, but wow, after sitting closed up that long, it reeks. Definitely needs to air out for a while before I jump back into that.

It took 3 days of persuasion, force, and a lot of luck to get the drivers door to open. The latch was seized, but I finally cracked into it. Passenger door is locked and I haven't tried opening it yet.

I was lucky and was able to get a 1972 340 and it's matching 727 at the same place for the car. The Duster still has the original /6 automatic in it at the moment, but it will be replaced with this drivetrain once I go through it.

I'll do enough to get it safe, and reliable and enjoy it for a while as is. I think it will be a blast to drive with the 340.

Neat! Is that a 383 Cuda next to the engine?

Wow, great work on the rescue mission and patience with the door. That interior looks… really good! Looking forward to seeing your progress, and cheers to your rescue
