A couple of show cars from the Super Chevy Show in Joliet in 2009.

The Schaubel's 52 Fleetline was a Gold Class car and won Best of Show at this event.

S. Luethge's 56 210 was also a Gold Class car and was featured in the 2012 edition of Chevy Classics put out by Super Chevy magazine.

This is one of the baddest 64 Malibu's I've ever seen. It had a 632 with NOS. It was entered in the show at this event, but the car supposedly ran 8.70's without spray.

J. Mygatt's 69 Z/28 RS is the nicest Garnet Red Z I've ever seen. It was a Gold Class regular at Super Chevy events for years. It was at MCACN once too in maybe 2009 or 2010.

Here are a few of the Chicago Outlaw Super Stockers. These guess really put on a show and were regulars at Super Chevy Shows in the Midwest. These 7 second wheel standers were real crowd pleasers.

This is R. Vanderwoude's 67 Chevy II SS. It had a 448ci big block and ran 7.70's. This is definitely my favorite Chicago OSS car.

J. Priola's 66 Chevelle SS also ran in the 7.70's.

E. Robles 67 Impala was Granada Gold with a Capri Cream top and had a 632. He also ran 7.70's. This car was featured in the June 2008 issue of Super Chevy.

D. Thompson's 68 Camaro had a 509 and ran 7.90's. This was another show quality car like most of the Chicago OSS's.

D. McCorkle's 69 Camaro ran 7.80's.

Here are some more racecars from the same show.

N. Loesch's 55 Bel Air was a True Street competitor. It had a 540 putting out over 800 horsepower and ran mid 10's.

S. Scott's 60 Impala ran with the Midwest Super Stock Mafia. It had a naturally aspirated 615 and ran 8.70's.

This 65 Malibu had a naturally aspirated 565 and ran 8.40's.

W. Ingram's 67 Chevy II SS had a naturally aspirated small block and ran in the 8's. This car was show quality and one of the nicest racecars I have ever seen.

This is B. Goldstone's 73 Javelin. It had a 638 and ran 7.50's in street legal trim. I've seen him drive it to local cruise-ins and to the track in this configuration. He has since had the chassis redone and switched to twin turbos. It's now faster and more streetable. It was featured in the November 2013 issue of RPM magazine.

R. Keller's 78 Z/28 was another True Street competitor. It had a big block on NOS and ran low 9's.

This IROC had a small block on NOS and ran 8.70's. He did a huge on the bumper wheelstand.

J. Coyle's 99 Z/28 had a big block and ran 9.80's.

Great pics. That 55, Chevy II and Javelins are outstanding.

Here are some show cars from the Super Chevy Show in Norwalk OH in 2010.

J. Stewart's 57 Bel Air conv. in Merlot with an AL 410 putting out 500hp. This car won the Award of Excellence. It was also featured in the June 2011 issue of Super Chevy.

R. Hoeft's original owner 67 SS427 4 speed car. This car was at MCACN several years ago.

N. Meads 69 Nova SS is an original L78 car that was sold new at Sport Chevrolet in Silver Spring MD. It was featured in the January 2011 issue of Super Chevy.

C. Ragland's Gold Class 68 L78 Chevelle SS. It is Palomino Ivory with an Ivy Gold interior. This car and his Cortez Silver 69 Chevelle SS that I posted pictures of earlier were regulars at the Super Chevy shows in this area for many years.

L. Hicks' Glacier Blue X33 69 Z/28 RS. This is the only Glacier Blue 69 Z I have ever seen.

Here are some race cars from the same event.

Sweet 63 Chevy II with a 540 on NOS that ran 8.80's. This is one of my favorite first gen Chevy II race cars.

I posted one of this 66 Chevy II before, but this is about as low and mean as they get.

Clean 67 Chevy II SS had a 434 small block and ran low 10's.

Nice 69 Nova SS with a big block ran high 8's.

The Gambino's 69 Camaro had a big block and ran high 9's. Apparently he didn't trust the factory hood latch.

Another big block high 9 second 69 Camaro.

The Marcellus & Borshe "Winged Express" driven by M. Boyd. This is a recreation with some modern upgrades and it ran 7.20's @ over 200.

The Guasco & Richey "Pure Hell" 32 Bantam. This car ran mid 6's @ 230+. These guys were way more fun to watch than a modern Top Fuel dragster.

Mid 6's @ 230mph(!) with a short wheelbase like that must be an incredibly scary ride, whew.

According to the Pure Hell Fuel Altered website the best time for the car is a 6.19 @ 238. The picture above is an updated version of the original car and it has a longer wheelbase than the original.

Here are a few muscle cars from the 2011 Super Chevy Show at Maple Grove in PA.

D. Kauffman's 57 210 is a factory 270hp car with a 3 speed.

B. Giordano's 63 Impala SS convertible with a 425hp 409.

D. Yoder's 66 Chevelle SS convertible is a numbers matching car and won the Stock Chevelle class.

Nice 68 Z/28 was parked in the show area on Friday, but didn't come back Saturday or Sunday.

E. Sells 69 Z/28 X33 car was in the Gold Class. It had the JL8 brakes, cross ram set up and fiberglass hood added when it was restored.
