Mercury never "officially" offered the HiPo 289 in it's Comets. Supposedly if you were a good customer of a big LM dealer, you could get the Sales Manager to somehow order you one. Less than a handful were sold to the public.

But this Comet is special:

I think this photo was taken at Bonaire. A Dutch island in the Leeward Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. Great place for scuba diving.
