If in fact the suffix code is IV instead of 1V then it could be one of the following:
If small block - 1969 350, TH400 for a taxi.
If big block - 1965, 1967 or 1968 396/325 auto.

It is most likely the 1967 396 based on the VIN derivative.

Thanks, Dave, I,ve just seen pics. of the engine, definitely a big block. The person who owns it claims it is out of a late 60's SS Impala so your info. is most likely correct. I would think the horsepower would be 325 on this particular car/engine combo. Thanks again, Joe

I think on the pad date the suffix is IV which is a 67 big car 396 - 325.

T1201IV
This decodes as:
T=Tonawanda assembled
12=December,1966
01=Day
IV=Suffix used on Passenger (BIG) car w/396/325HP w/Auto Trans. from 1965-1968.
Became a 350/300Hp small block in 1969 for Police use.

That CON VIN of 7D142657,specifically calls it as being installed in the 42657th 1967 Passenger car unit,built at the Doraville Atlanta,Georgia Plant.
Whatchya gonna do with it..

Mr. 70, Thanks for all the info., was hoping to purchase the car it's presently installed in, we'll see. Really just needed to know what the engine was removed from. Again, thank you, Joe
