Default Home Made go karts

I’m sure many of us had home made go karts when we were kids. Here is a pic of my “Speed Demon” when I was around 8-9 years old.LOL
I thought it would be fun to see some pics if y’all had a go kart when you were a kid.

Slicks, straight pipe exhaust and a home bent conduit tiller for steering.

You were destined to be a hot rodder and into modifications.. LOL
Any pics of the junk I scraped together would have been on film from a Brownie camera in the late 50's, early 60's and are long gone with the parents.

I'd bet you were the sheet around the local motorheads. It's odd and encouraging how many young boys stop to stare as I drive my vintage stuff around. Just need a bit of encouragement.

I had a home made one that my dad got me when I was a kid in the 60's. The front axle was made from a driveshaft best I can remember. It had a big ole McCullough chain saw engine on it and was fast enough for me.

Looks like a very sturdy roll cage.

----Never saw your cart, Dave. I do, however, remember your Dads Chevy which was his daily driver for quite a while. He still always kept it clean. I remember putting a set of 79ish Corvette aluminum wheels and tires on it for a while. Looked so cool that way!....Bill S

I thought he put the wheels on from my moms ‘81 Corvette? I’m sure Jake will chime in.
