Vinyl roofs on race cars were something that Smokey Yunick tested on his 67 Camaro.
It went faster with Vinyl roof, Golf ball effect

I don't think Smokey was testing the Bernoulli effect....more like testing the Band-Aid effect of hiding body modifications with a vinyl top with padding.

Challenger started as 1970 model and ended up as a 1972 model
