This magnificent 1950's Murry Atomic Missile #P-100 Pedal Car is a great example of an iconic space-age pedal vehicle. The Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company was founded in 1919 and located in Cleveland, OH. The company made fenders, fuel tanks, automobile parts. In the 1930's, the company began production of bicycles, pedal cars and electric fans. During the 1950's the United States was entering the space age. Murray countered with its own sign of the times in the form of the three-wheeled Atomic Missile, Super Sonic Jet and Sky Rocket pedal vehicles. The performance-minded youngster had a choice of two drive trains on these three-wheelers, the usual pedal drive or smoother dyna-chain drive. MS CLASSIC CARS purchased this example in July of 2023. It was sent to Rich Mutert of Innovations Auto located in Foristell, MO for a complete restoration. Rich is an award-winning automotive restorer and acquaintance of MS CLASSIC CARS. It was completed in February of 2024 and this is the first time it's been offered for sale since completion.

This example is in show quality condition throughout. During the restoration process everything was restored or replaced. The aero-dynamic metal body is very straight but the panel gaps aren't excellent as they were from the factory. The Murray's “out-of-this-word” styling was reflected in the colorful paint schemes. The fuselage, delta wing and rudder were finished in Metallic Gold. The cowling, nose, chain guard and rear jets were finished in White. The cockpit, steering wheel, seat and wheels were finished in Vermilion. The high quality paint was recently detailed to a glossy finish. The body was decorated with graphics decals including simulated gauges and instruments. It was outfitted with a realistic dual guided missile controls, realistic motor-tone gearshift and jeweled reflector. It's equipped with a chain drive with a standard bicycle roller-type chain, ball-bearing crank hanger and rear axle mountings. It rolls on 8” Vermilion double disc style wheels with new tires.

A Hallmark Galleries Limited Edition Kiddie Car Classics 1958 Murray Atomic Missile replica model with original box, description card and letter are included with the sale. This piece was trademarked in 1994.
MS CLASSIC CARS will assist in any type of shipping within the lower 48 United States.
