“This ultra-rare Al Fischer Rocket Ship is one of only a few examples known to exist. It's a vintage coin-operated children's ride collectors dream piece and a must have for any collection. Once it's gone, it's gone!” – Marc Schiliro

This majestic 1962 Al Fischer Buck Rogers Rocket Ship Coin-Operated children's ride is extremely rare and beautifully restored. The attention to detail is evident throughout. The Al Fischer & Company was a large coin-operated children's ride manufacturer located in Ft. Thomas, KY. This example was discovered by expert Jeff Russell of Big Boy Toys located in Oklahoma. The high quality restoration was completed in June of 2024. It was purchased by MS CLASSIC CARS in September of 2024 and October of 2024 is the first time it's been listed for sale.

This 60+ year old coin-operated children's ride is a fabulous piece of Americana from the 1960's. This was a time when Apollo 11 landed on the moon and the Woodstock Music and Art Fair took place. The original fiberglass body is very straight throughout. A set of holes were cut out in the lower front and rear for carrying purposes. The body was outfitted with the original fiberglass rocket center wing and side “banjo” rocket wings. The body was dressed with steel rivets and painted gray to give it the aircraft appearance. The gray paint was decorated with purple and green painted graphics that are outlined with yellow pin striping. These colors were thought of from the famous Disney character Buzz Lightyear. The paint work is high show quality and was recently detailed to brilliant shine. Some of the exterior features include a plastic windshield, stainless body molding, chrome boosters and functioning lights. The chrome boosters are vintage looking semi-truck market lights. The new coin mechanism was incorporated into the side “banjo” wing and operates by pushing the coin return piece. A reproduction tag was added directly below the coin mechanism. The dash was painted gray and the cabin was painted black. The dash was setup with two red buttons that activate the missile and machine gun sound box. The custom side panels and seat was upholstered in black stitched vinyl. It was outfitted with a correct style “Yoke” steering wheel.

The base was custom made and painted teal which complements the rocket ship colors. The paint work on the base is also high show quality. It was decorated with Buck Rogers and 10-cent graphics that were clear-coated for a realistic appearance. The base houses the ride Carousel International mechanism, 1/3hp motor, new sound box and 110-volt power cord. The sound box plays a rocket ship sound which makes the experience unforgettable. Everything is in excellent working order as demonstrated in the video provided.

This super vintage rocket ship coin-operated children's ride is a piece of artwork with its art deco styling. Countless hours were invested in this awesome ride making it a one-of-a-kind. Vintage coin-operated children's rides are becoming highly collectable. They make great display pieces in homes, garages and businesses. This is the one you want and need to have!
