Re: 1969 ZL1 going to Barrett-Jackson 2012
Being a rebodied car what would one expect the value to be? RK Motors has the clone car with one of the original ZL1 motors in it and that car is listed at $179k. Obviously this car would not be a fair comparison as it is built using one of the original 69 VIN numbers but at the same time they are both clones or tribute cars of some sort. I would like to think this car has a much higher value than the car RK is selling.

Re: 1969 ZL1 going to Barrett-Jackson 2012
Hopefully George will update the community with regard to how the original cowl/firewall was mated to the new body shell. It appears to be clear that this is the continuous history car (CHC). This situation is not uncommon in the Cobra world where CHC means a great deal. At the end of the day - it's one great car!

Yep, and thats just the way Floyd is. A pull-no-punchs stand-up kinda guy whos a real assest to the musclecar hobby. I've 'chewed the fat' for hours on end many times with him. A true Gentleman who has a very soft spot in his heart for 409 cars.

Re: 1969 ZL1 going to Barrett-Jackson 2012
Are there any Day 2 pictures from when the car was raced? As the car was a race car almost from new perhaps a future owner will take it back to how it looked then.

Re: 1969 ZL1 going to Barrett-Jackson 2012
I agree, that car is killer in the original livery. This has been a great thread for many reasons. Mostly for the forthrightness of the car and its history. The paperwork and photos make the car.
Good luck with the sale George. Phil Woj |
