67-8 Muncie Shifter
It's my understanding that the early reproduction shifters were junk and have since been redesigned. If so, does anyone have experience with the newer repops?
Thanks in advance for knowledgeable replies Gents.

Re: 67-8 Muncie Shifter
The only way I know to redesign the Muncie shifter is to replace it with a hurst! Someone makes a Muncie handle to go on the hurst shifter to keep the original look. If anyone knows who makes it, I need one!
Buddy

Re: 67-8 Muncie Shifter
Heart Beat City once had the handle you're looking for Buddy - not sure Jim still offers it.
Do you have the original Muncie shifter for your 67 Camaro?

Re: 67-8 Muncie Shifter
Yes, the original sloppy shifter is still in it! The car is SOOO original, I can't bring myself to put a hurst shifter in it!

Re: 67-8 Muncie Shifter
Just get a hurst console shifter..nova/Camaro...and a donor Muncie handle...weld on a hurst end...and nobody will know the difference.
keep your oem shifter on the shelf..where you can dust it regularly. wilma

I understand originally and can help you because I did find spare parts I've had tucked away for many years. Also I have a exploded view of the Muncie(Inland Made)shifter and repair parts for the reverse lockout assembly. Let me know if interested.

Re: 67-8 Muncie Shifter
And this is the reason unmolested OEM Muncie shifters are getting very difficult to find. I see no need to weld a after market handle on one that is restorable.
And Yes TAZ, I have NOS parts & can restore them to OEM Specs. Just trying to help the owners that want true, faithful originally.
