I never see a lot of discussion on the Yenko Stinger on this board. Why aren't more of you owner's of Stingers? It seems it would be the easiest and least expensive way to own a real Yenko. I ask this since I have been considering buying one. Thanks for any and all comments.

Saw this '67 Corvair Monza "Yenko Stinger" model for sale on E-Bay.
Boy the price of vintage models has dropped to almost nothing in the last couple years!

I agree with Kasey,

...<<< AL >>>, I HOPE YOU WILL STILL LOOK AT BUYING A '' STINGER '', I DON'T OWN A YENKO STINGER, BUT I REALLY LIKE THE CORVAIR I'VE GOT, SEXY OR NOT, THEY ARE GREAT CAR'S, FUN TO DRIVE, IF YOUR NOT IN TO BIG OF A HURRY..HAHA KASEY

The REAL cars are going up fast. I have YS-199, a 67 Stinger that has always been a race car and has 4 log books of history. I just picked up YS-070 this last week. I have owned 7 different Stingers over the last 23 years. They slowly went up in price and over the last 5 years have really taken off in price. No one is wanting to turn loose of any. The only Stinger convert. just sold again in the last 2 weeks for close to 6 figures. A solid street Stinger is now bringing 30-40k when one pops up.

They do not have the big bore sex appeal of the Camaro's, Nova's or Chevelle's, but they do stick out like a sore thumb at a show and can be a chic magnet.

If you found one reasonable, you better pick it up!!!

As for the Vega (it being very cool in it own way), the only thing it was a magnet for was rust.........

+++ Lauren +++ Welcome to the SYC, this is the super car sight, but, there are a few of us '' Corvair '' folks, as I say, mine Vair is more show, and very lttle go, but lots of fun, Do a write up, and pictures, and send to Bruce, aka Xplantdad, and he'll get you in the member's ride, and again, welcome, and enjoy yourself, these guys, and gals are great.....Kasey

Yes get a write up and send it in, my wife and I have had corvairs for many years. when I met my wife in high school she had a 66 coupe, 110hp/4spd. corvette yellow , cragers . it was cool.I have a photo somewhere, she had to teach me how to drive a stick
from time to time she enjoys driving my car . she prefers the torque of the v8.

Welcome to the forum Lauren.

440 in a dart , sweet.

Thanks for the welcome, guys!
My Vair I recently inherited, it was my great-grandmother's car - her fave color was purple, so when she passed an Evening Orchid Corvair on a used car lot she had to have it! It's been my dream car ever since I can remember; I'm lucky it's been garage-kept. My fiance [C1SS396] just wishes the solid old car had been a Cor-VETTE I'll have to get a write up together.
