Default Toyota/Lexas Recall

I saw today that the recall fix for the floormats is....R you sitting....plastic tie clips. Yup clip the floormat to the seat frame. I thought the Toyota ad campaign was " Think Smart " I can se it now. Special Addition Lexas clips. Holy Crap Batman. Even low priced cars have attachment devices for the floor mats. What happens when the first say Car Wash guy cuts them and the mat goes back under the accelerator...Lawsuit I guess

There was a pretty good article in yesterdays newspaper about the frames rusting away on the Tundra trucks. They have had a rust problem for years, but it was kept out of the news media. The frames rusts so bad the brake and fuel lines are breaking. No surprise there though.

How was it kept out of the news media? This has been known for a long time.

Have you seen a story on any of the major news outlets regarding any recall or campaign for Tundras? Ever? I haven't. It may have been known for a long time, but not acknowledged, like ANY recall of the Big Three has been.

Toyota stands behind their cars better than any others in my opinion. Just look at the 90s v06 headgasket recalls and recent Tacoma complete recalls due to rust issues.

All Lexus' do have the clips to hold the mats in place on the driver's side. The problem is that people are putting the all weather mats on top of the regular carpet mats, and the clips won't hold them both in place - the rubber mat comes loose and slids up. Simple solution - take out the carpet mats. I sold Lexus for a couple of years and always advised owners to take out the carpet mats when installing all weather mats, but some people don't listen.

Recalls are always highly publicized. You just aren't looking.

Or perhaps you're looking for bias.

Am I supposed to take this as a slur?

I had a feeling this was coming judging by your location.
