Default Shipping

Shipping rates are just silly high these days.
I recently had an item shipped to me and shipping was over $70.

I ran the same shipping info (size and weight of box, etc) through Pirateship and the shipping would have been less than $25!!!

The difference isn't all that drastic.

It doesn't cost a dime to set up an account. When you are ready to ship, you just put in the dimensions of the box, the weight, and the insured amount. You will get quotes from all the major carriers, sorted from least expensive.

Choose the one you want; print the shipping label, affix it to the box and drop it off at the carrier. UPS comes by our office multiple times per week, so sometimes I just set it up front with a sticky note for the UPS worker to take it.

Has saved a lot on shipping.

I started using it about a year go. The difference is silly. Nice portal to manage the shipments as well.

I shipped out a pair of Corvette trailering arms to get rebuilt. I paid approx $55 to get them to the vendor. The return trip........$177 from the vendor

Same package, same weight, same insurance value

For future use, could you pay for the shipping and have a pre-paid label emailed to the vendor to print and attach ??

Yes.....I've done it before on items I bought. No surprise though, some vendors use shipping as a profit center

Some days, it feels like ALL of them do... and then the state of WI somehow feels shipping cost is "value added" and charges us sales tax on the shipping... crooks
