Default Ladder Bars

Can anyone identify the make of these ladder bars? Bought them last year and may throw them on my 71 GT-37.

What color would they have been originally?

Thanks,

Chris

I think it is difficult to tell sometimes, but yours look like NMW's - although Lakewood's may have been made by NMW.

FWIW, here are Lakewood bars for a Chevelle;

Here are NMW's for a Nova.... Note that the NMW's don't have the small 'plate' on the forward portion of the ladder bar...

Those NOS bars are the second design Lakewoods-top bar pinched down and the boxing plate added. The original Lakewoods used the round rebar style inserts just like the NMW's and you could not tell them apart unless you compared them side by side...and they may have been identical.

I see, that makes sense because I often thought the original Lakewood's looked identical to the NMW's - until I bought that yellow pair above, and noticed the differences. So, the OP could indeed have Lakewood or NMW bars, although I'm not sure of the application....

Thanks guys!

So, Lakewood or NMW - Red would likely indicate NMW?

They came off of a 70 GTO with a 12 bolt that a buddy of mine had and I do have a set of the correct frame brackets for them.

I thought the NMW's would be orange like the version on the Nova above, and yellow would be Lakewood. Perhaps chip away some of the paint to see if you find another color underneath.
