Dad was pretty pleased that he managed to fend them off on our Wangers prepped '63. ![]() ![]()

By the way: the red car belongs to Dennis and Mary Koss, the only two time winners of the Van Seymore Award at the Widetrackers Dustoff show.

![]() ![]() 1966 R code 427 Fairlane 500. One of 57 that Ford made for it's assault on NHRA & IHRA Super Stock. The original "lift off hood" muscle car. Bench seat, no radio. But they had a heater and defroster. And, most puzzling of all; front disc brakes which weigh more than drum brakes. First use of FDB in a Ford intermediate sized car. Base price is $ $2,378.40 for the Fairlane 500 and the 427 was a whopping $1,725.20 for the “427-8V CID Engine Race Car Pkg.” This is not the same 427 that Ford used in the 1964 Thunderbolts. It only has a 10.5:1 CR and is a medium riser, not a high riser. The car is actually streetable. |
