As usual it was a great show. Thanks go to Ken and his crew once again for making a very well executed and organized show. It was very nice to see old friends and make new ones and once again it was great to put a face with a name. Maybe one of these years I will get to look at the cars.

Great pics guys... looks like another great show, with an impressive turnout of both cars and people...Thanks for sharing for all of us who weren't able to be there!

Speaking of Bill Porterfield and ZL-1 #1, how about this moon shot?

A neighbor of ours, Frank Nickoll, at the wheel of ZL-1, #1. Sadly Frank passed away a while back.

Thought this was kind of interesting, Bill in the ZL-1 going up against, and defeating, Ronnie Sox in a Sox & Martin Hemi. According to Bill, he began match racing the car in 1991 running that year a 10.20 @135. Defeated McDonald's AFX '65 Coronet, Banning's '68 Hemi Dart, Legend's Pontiac, and lost to Bob Reed's '68 Hemi Cuda. In '93 Bill inproved to a 9.31 @ 144.89, defeating the Sox and Martin '68 Hemi Cuda and Red Alert '70 Chevelle. '94 saw Bill defeat Dave Lyall '69 Mustang 2 out of 3 and again defeating Red Alert '70 Chevelle. It is a shame that these old race cars have appreciated in value so much that few folks dare to race them. Hats off to the ones who do.
